We provide several other styles and qualities to meet any price point as well as AAMA certified installation through the circle of surety guarantee.

Starmark windows offer the advantage of having the interior be stainable, and they can be installed as a replacement window without disturbing the interior or exterior trim saving Hundreds of dollars vs. a full tear-out of the existing windows, casings and sills.

Reasons for replacing your windows:

  • Energy Savings in summer and winter for added comfort and lowers your carbon footprint.
  • No painting or staining
  • Ease of clean and operation
  • Beautifies the home
  • Exterior noise pollution is significantly reduced
  • Eliminates the need for storm windows
  • Reduces condensation which reduces mold and mildew
  • Increased value of home
  • Added security from exterior forced entry
  • Allows homeowner to use more space in home. No more drafts
  • Keeps you current to the stricter building performance guidelines that qualify for tax credits.

Prior to the Energy star guidelines set forth in 2000, windows did not need to meet any criteria for glass performance other than they had to be thermal pane (two panes of glass). If you have a home that was built prior to the year 2000 your glass is probably not able to pass the Energy Star guideline of U .35 or lower. U or U-Value is how the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) describes glass performance. The lower the U-Value which is written as a number from 0 to 1, the better the glass is able to stop the transfer of heat in BTU’S per hour.

The American Recover and Reinvestment Act of 2009 For Windows And Doors:

Summary

  • The tax credits that were previously effective for 2009 are extended through 2010 as well
  • The tax credit has been raised from 10% to 30% of qualifying improvements.
  • The maximum credit has been raised from $200/500 to $1500 for the two years (2009-2010)
  • The $200 cap on windows has been removed.
  • The tax credit applies only to the product costs. No labor or installation costs can be included.
  • Window must have a U-value of .30 AND a solar heat gain co-efficient (SHGC) of .30

If your materials costs meet or exceed $5,000 you will receive the full credit allowed of $1,500. Remember it is 30% of the materials cost up to $1,500. This is a Credit so it is the same as cash and reduces by face value the tax you owe at the end of the year.
